Our alliance is committed to school improvement through a school-led system of collaboration and support. We are able to draw on skills and expertise from across our members, so that support can be personalised to the needs of individual schools and academies.
Access to specialist expertise
As an alliance we also have the capacity to support other schools through the use of National, Local and Specialist Leaders of Education, sharing best practice and expertise.
National Leaders of Education (NLEs) are outstanding headteachers or principals who, together with the staff in their schools (designated national support schools or NSS), use their skills and experience to support schools in challenging circumstances. In addition to leading their own schools, NLEs work to increase the leadership capacity of other schools to help raise standards. Their fundamental purpose is to ensure that there is a good or better school for every child.
The role of the Local Leaders of Education (LLEs) is to improve pupil outcomes through partnership working between schools and academies. Local leaders of education are successful headteachers who work alongside other heads to drive forward improvements and build capacity to ensure that improvements can be sustained.
Specialist Leaders of Education (SLEs) offer support to leaders and teams in other schools. They are experienced leaders who have demonstrated outstanding practice and have the skills to support others in similar contexts.
If you would to know more about how we could support your school or a particular initiative, please get in touch with us and we would be happy to discuss your options.
